Cory Reese is a piano player in the truest sense of the art. At the age of eighteen he heard Cristofori's Dream by David Lanz and was touched by the music of the piano. He quickly sat at the family piano, determined to teach himself how to play. Without a lesson, and after countless hours, he was soon able to master the song that inspired him to play the piano. Five years later, he entered Spiral Studios to record Moment of Peace, original solo piano music.
After perfecting his playing of other people's songs, Cory began writing his own music. Generally termed new age, the solo piano music on Moment of Peace is filled with striking melodies and rhythms throughout each song. Often compared to the music of George Winston, David Lanz, and Paul Cardall, Cory's music builds on that of his mentors to create a unique, touching, and melodic sound.
Referred to as his musical autobiography, his record Moment of Peace is a chronicle of the young man's life. Personal moments such as the anticipation of the birth of his child, and the death of his father are played through the notes of his music. It is clear that Cory's personality is in the music. Each note is deliberate and intentional as he weaves a picture in the mind of the listener.
Great CD. It's peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for those who love the piano. The one thing that stood out most to me is that among all the people who have shared their piano albums with me, Cory has the most professional touch and feeling in his performance. His sensitivity with each note and the use of dynamics is nearly perfect. ~ Paul Cardall, Narada Recording Artist
Moment of Peace has a very consistent and heartfelt quality. ~ David Lanz, Decca Recording Artist
Cory has a way of taking you out of the daily routine so that you can experience your own moment of peace'.
